50 HP Rotary Screw Air Compressors

Fixed-speed compressors run at constant motor speed and are best for steady, continuous air demand. Variable-speed drive (VSD) models like the LRS Series adjust motor speed to match fluctuating demand, delivering 30–50% energy savings. VSD units are ideal when air demand varies between 40–75% of full load capacity throughout the day.

A typical 50 HP rotary screw air compressor produces approximately 200–250 CFM, depending on the model, operating pressure, and drive technology. Gardner Denver's L Series and LRS Series span a broad range from 13 to over 1,600 CFM across available HP configurations. Verify exact CFM output for your target pressure before selecting a unit.

Most 50 HP rotary screw air compressors operate between 75–200 PSIG. The L Series and LRS Series cover 75–190 PSIG, while the Electra-Saver II G2 supports 100–200 PSIG. The right pressure setting depends on your application - running at lower pressures improves energy efficiency and reduces component wear.

Yes. 50 HP rotary screw air compressors are designed for continuous-duty industrial operation. Gardner Denver models feature TEFC motors, slow-speed airends running at 1,760–1,800 RPM, and oil-flooded lubrication systems that support reliable 24/7 operation. They are commonly used in manufacturing plants, automotive facilities, hospitals, and woodworking operations.

Routine maintenance includes changing the air filter, oil filter, oil separator, and compressor lubricant at manufacturer-specified intervals. Gardner Denver recommends using genuine AEON lubricants and OEM parts to maintain warranty validity. Platinum+ Full Package Warranty plans include scheduled maintenance performed by factory-trained technicians, covering wear items and major package components.

Gardner Denver offers a standard 2-year package warranty, a Platinum 10-Year Extended Warranty covering airend parts for 10 years and major components for 5 years, and a Platinum+ Full Package Warranty as a 5-year renewable service agreement. All warranty coverage requires on-schedule maintenance performed in accordance with Gardner Denver's requirements.

Gardner Denver and CompAir rotary screw compressors cover the 50 HP class, with Zeks dryers for air treatment and aftermarket parts, lubricants and filtration supplies carried alongside.
